CARE International is a organization humanitarian fight against poverty and social injustice. At CARE International, we seek a world of hope, tolerance and social justice, where poverty has been overcome and people live in dignity and security.

As part of the digitization of country office archives, CARE International Benin/Togo is recruiting six (06) interns – archivists to support the operation. The duration of the internship is three (3) months.

  2. Roles and Tasks of the intern

The volunteer intern will carry out the following tasks:

  • Digitize documents in the archives;
  • Make scanned files available on a local storage device and online on our dedicated mission knowledge management platform;
  • Participate in the insertion of digitized documents on the mission’s dedicated knowledge management platform;
  • If possible, participate in organizing the destruction of old physically archived documents, after approval from the hierarchy and according to legal retention periods.
  1. Trainee profile

The intern must have the following qualifications and professional experience:

  • Hold a professional degree in Archival Studies or any other equivalent diploma;
  • Have six (6) months of experience in archiving;
  • Have good command of IT tools (Microsoft Office suite, scanning software).
  • Have knowledge of standards and practices regarding digitization and preservation of archives;
  • Be discreet, rigorous, methodical and organized and able to work in a team;
  • Have a sense of confidentiality.
  1. Training place

The internship will take place at the CARE national office, located in Cotonou.

  • An internship request letter addressed to the Country Director;
  • An updated detailed Curriculum Vitae (last name, first name, gender, age, professional experience);
  • Contact details (surnames & first names, telephone number, email address and position) of two (2) reference people.

NB:

Only pre-selected candidates will be contacted;

Diplomas and internship certificates will be requested from pre-selected candidates.
