The White House denounces the broadcast of truncated videos of Biden

“Discount fakes”: the White House denounced on Monday the distribution by the conservative camp of videos supposed to prove a mental and physical decline of American President Joe Biden. She assured that the images had been truncated and manipulated.

“This shows you how desperate the Republicans are,” said US executive spokesperson Karine Jean-Pierre. She was reacting to the broadcast in recent days on social networks, by conservative media, notably the New York Post, or by an official account of the Republican Party, of short videos which at first glance are damning for the American president.

In one of the videos, the 81-year-old Democrat appears completely disoriented as he watches a skydiving show with other G7 leaders during a summit last week in Italy.

Karine Jean-Pierre indicated that Joe Biden had knowingly moved away from the group to congratulate one of the paratroopers, which we realize “by letting the video continue a little longer”.

Age of the president

Another highly commented sequence: a close shot of Joe Biden completely frozen during a concert given recently at the White House and described by the octogenarian’s adversaries as an episode of mental confusion.

“The president was there listening to the music and he was not dancing. You will excuse me. I did not know that not dancing was indicative of a health problem,” quipped Karine Jean-Pierre.

Finally, the White House was outraged this weekend after the broadcast in the conservative and Trumpist sphere of a video taken from a political meeting in Los Angeles. We see Joe Biden appearing lost on the stage, before his predecessor Barack Obama takes his wrist and guides him towards the exit.

The spokesperson assured that the American president had only lingered on the stage to enjoy the applause of his supporters.

The age of the American president is a major concern among voters, according to polls, and a recurring angle of attack from his great presidential rival Donald Trump.
