One person was killed and sixteen others were injured in a shooting on a college campus in the US state of Alabama. The circumstances of this new shooting, at Tuskegee University, have not yet been established.

The shooting took place Sunday night during a alumni reunion. The 18-year-old suspect was shot and killed at the scene. Police then arrested another 25-year-old suspect. According to local media, he was seen leaving campus in possession of a firearm.

Of the 16 injured, 12 of them suffered gunshot wounds. There is no information at this stage on the motives and circumstances of this new shooting. The FBI has appealed for testimonies to gather information about the incident. Tuskegee University said in a communication posted on its website that the suspect had no connection with the establishment.
