Last May, a 59-year-old man was arrested by Brazilian police in a hospital in the São Paulo region. He is suspected of having sexually abused his 17-year-old daughter while she was in intensive care, reports local media g1.
The teenager was taken to hospital after suffering a cardiopulmonary arrest. But quickly, caregivers began to have doubts about the girl’s father. When the latter came to visit his daughter, the patient’s heart rate skyrocketed and reached 190 beats per minute.
A hidden camera in the bedroom
Worried, the hospital staff decided to put a camera in the teenager’s room. A forensic examination was also carried out and the results highlighted injuries that could have been caused as a result of sexual violence.
The father was charged with rape of a vulnerable person. In a statement, the man firmly denied the facts. According to his lawyer, the images captured by the camera do not constitute sufficient evidence. The latter also recalled that his client should be considered not guilty until a judgment is rendered.
For her part, the teenager’s mother assures that her husband did nothing. According to her, the accusations against her husband are destroying her family. The media Metropolises finally specifies that if this affair was revealed so late, it is because of the age of the victim who was still a minor at the time of the facts.
