Rarely has a climatic event like Hurricane Milton which hit the coast of Florida been followed with so much attention in Moscow, even though it is several thousand kilometers away. Thursday morning, certain media – such as the tabloid close to the Kremlin Komsomolskaïa Pravda – even decided to open a “live” broadcast to follow its progress and, above all, the damage it is inflicting on the United States and its inhabitants. A real “apocalypse” according to the official press, which speaks of devastating rains, gigantic waves and winds sweeping away everything in their path. It is the “storm of the century”, headlines Moskovsky Komsomolets, another popular newspaper, describing a “deadly hurricane which advances inexorably” inland.
