One dead, ten injured in gun attack in southern Israel

A woman died and 10 people were injured Sunday in a gun attack in the southern Israeli town of Beersheva, the perpetrator of which was “neutralized,” according to Israeli police and services relief.

“Rescuers pronounced the death of a 25-year-old woman and evacuated ten injured people to Soroka hospital,” announced Magen David Adom, the Israeli equivalent of the Red Cross in a press release, some injured having been affected shot and stabbed.

Israeli police previously announced that “several people were injured in a shooting attack at the Beersheva central bus station.”

“The terrorist has been neutralized and police forces are on site,” the statement added.

The Israeli army was put on alert on Sunday, for fear of attacks, on the eve of the first anniversary of the unprecedented attack by Hamas on Israeli soil which sparked the war in Gaza.

Magen David Adom, the Israeli equivalent of the Red Cross, reported eight injured on site, including a woman in critical condition.

Seven people were killed Tuesday with automatic weapons and stabbing by two Palestinians from the occupied West Bank at a tram station in Tel Aviv, in central Israel.

This attack in Tel Aviv, claimed by Hamas, is the deadliest attack by the Palestinian Islamist movement on Israeli soil since October 7.

The October 7 attack led to the death of 1,205 people on the Israeli side, the majority of them civilians killed, according to an AFP count based on official Israeli figures and including hostages who died or were killed in captivity in the Strip. Gaza
