A 13-year-old dog heroically saved her 84-year-old owner in Washington state, USA. The man, injured in the leg, could not get up after a fall on September 25. Coming to the aid of her master, Gita acted instinctively to alert the emergency services.
After seeing her master’s distress, the dog left the house and stood in the middle of the road, hoping to attract attention. His behavior was finally noticed by a local sheriff’s deputy, who was intrigued by the animal’s attitude.
Although he tried to get Gita into his patrol car, she refused to cooperate. The deputy, determined to help, began a neighborhood investigation, but without result. It was ultimately the dog herself who led him to his master.
According to the Stevens County Sheriff’s Office, the deputy heard the voice of an elderly man calling for help upon arriving at the scene. The victim had health problems requiring medication that he was unable to take after his fall.
“The loyalty and heroism of our furry friends never ceases to amaze us,” commented the sheriff. The authorities believe that Gita truly “saved her master’s life” that day.
