– The head of government, Aziz Akhannouch underlined, Saturday in Paris, Morocco’s attachment to the values ​​of the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF), such as cultural diversity and multilingualism, which the Kingdom is working towards. to be promoted through education and employability programs for young people.

“Morocco, a member of the International Organization of the Francophonie since 1981, shares the values ​​represented by this organization such as: cultural diversity and multilingualism. Values ​​that Morocco is working to promote in various areas, notably education and employability programs for young people,” said Mr. Akhannouch who spoke during a panel on the second day of the 19th Francophonie Summit, closed on Saturday at the Grand Palais in the French capital.

Mr. Akhannouch represented His Majesty King Mohammed VI at the Francophonie summit, held over two days under the theme: “Create, innovate and undertake in French”.

During his speech at the round table focused on “innovation, entrepreneurship for youth employment”, in the presence of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Abdelatif Miraoui and the ambassador of His Majesty the King in Paris, Samira Sitail, the head of government presented the reforms undertaken by Morocco, under the leadership of the Sovereign, in the field of education, stressing that the Kingdom has placed the reform of education among its highest priorities.

Referring to the issues of multilingualism and the employability of young people, Mr. Akhannouch stressed that language learning plays “an essential role in improving the employability of our young people, because it allows them to acquire transversal skills, and access to the broader labor market not only in the country of origin, but also internationally.”

Insisting on the place of digital as a central lever, Mr. Akhannouch underlined that it becomes necessary to integrate the dimension of accessibility to new technologies, especially since digital constitutes “an important reservoir for creating opportunities employment, particularly for young people.

In this regard, he cited the implementation of the “Maroc Digital 2030” strategy, launched a few days ago, which constitutes from this point of view, one of the main levers of the government’s roadmap in favor of employment: with the objective of training 100,000 young people annually by 2026 in the digital field – and the creation of 240,000 direct jobs in the digital economy.

On the sidelines of the summit, Mr. Akhannouch had a series of bilateral meetings, notably with the Mauritanian President, Mohamed Ould Cheikh El-Ghazouani, the Belgian Prime Minister, Alexander De Croo and the Lebanese Minister of Information, Ziad Makary .
