Morocco condemns incursions by Jewish extremists into Al-Aqsa Mosque esplanade

The Kingdom of Morocco, of which King Mohammed VI chairs the Al-Quds Committee, under the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), expresses its strong condemnation and denunciation of the incursions by certain extremists and their supporters into the esplanade of the Al Aqsa Mosque, and their provocative practices which violate its sacred character.

In a press release, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs underlines that Morocco reiterates its rejection of any measure undermining the legal and historical status of the city of Al Quds and its holy sites, including the Al-Aqsa mosque, or imposing any restriction at the entrance of the faithful.

The Kingdom also emphasizes the need to preserve the civilizational and Islamic character of the holy city, and to avoid any form of escalation and provocation.

Under the leadership of King Mohammed VI, President of the Al Quds Committee, continues the MAE, the Kingdom reaffirms that the establishment of a just and comprehensive peace and lasting stability in the region remain dependent on the creation of a Palestinian state. independent on the borders of June 1967 with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with the resolutions of international legitimacy and the principle of the two-state solution.
