The Béziers Volleyball players, who played at home this Sunday, December 29, will benefit from a nice truce from the confectioners after their victory against Mulhouse.
The day after its great victory against Mulhouse with a score of 3 sets to 2, Béziers Volley is taking a few days of rest with the satisfaction of once again being among the contenders for a title this season. For Frédéric Havas, the Béziers coach, the difference came down to the tactical mastery and superiority of his team in certain sectors.
“We are better armed in block defense than Mulhouse. They have weaknesses in certain rotations and we were able to exploit these openings. Physically and technically, we are starting to find a balance which allows us to perform well”, rejoices the coach.
Aiming for a title?
With this new victory against a major team in the championship, Havas displays its ambitions: “When you win in Bordeaux, against Paris then Mulhouse, why not aim for a title? We showed that we could perform collectively. Now, everything will depend on our ambition, our work and our state of mind.”
So it is with the feeling “for doing the job” that the Béziers coach will be able to celebrate the confectioners' truce, not without remembering that this progress is the fruit of regular collective work: “When I arrived, the team didn't know each other. Just like I had never met the staff. I had to late recruit players who came from a different background: American university, Bulgaria, Switzerland… Each with our own habits. But through repetition, we learn to play together..
Next match on January 11 in Nantes
With promising results and a well-established collective, Béziers Volley seems ready to take on new challenges. Next step to confirm this great dynamic: January 11, with a trip to Nantes.
