Badara Ndiaye, Senegalese-American artist and artistic director, invites you to discover “WHEN COLORS TRAVEL”. After an exhibition at The August Wilson African American Cultural Center in Pittsburgh in the United States from April to July 2024, the artist returns to France to present his new project at Atelier Gustave. The exhibition “WHEN COLORS TRAVEL” is a visual manifestation of Badara Ndiaye’s approach to life. For the artist: “your life is your canvas”. This phrase underlines his belief that art is a unique expression of individual experiences. Through this exhibition, it aims to foster a deeper understanding of self, encourage connection and reflection among viewers, inspiring them to explore their own narratives and consider their place in the larger scheme of life. The paintings presented by Badara Ndiaye finally reflect her multifaceted identity, incorporating vivid colors and rich textures that evoke emotion. A central theme of his work here is the belief that every object has multifunctional potential and can have a second life. About the artist: Residing in Paris since 2020, Badara Ndiaye's life is woven from diverse experiences: from high-level sport, to artistic direction, through teaching in the greatest design schools and now art. His athletic journey as an NCAA basketball player in the United States instilled in him a strong work ethic and a deep appreciation for community and collaboration. Values that resonate in his art, as in his professional activities. A true jack-of-all-trades, Badara Ndiaye is also an artistic director consultant for international fashion institutions and thus harmoniously mixes the worlds of art and fashion, without forgetting to promote Senegalese and African identity and heritage. . Special guest: The brand Aux Corps Anonymes will offer a special collection inspired by the baroque and colorful universe of Badara Ndiaye. The collection will be presented on January 11, 2025.
