Indeed, he was a member of the Los Angeles police that Joe Mantegna admired for an investigation well known to the general public: the OJ Simpson affair. “He was the first to testify at the OJ Simpson trial” in 1995, explained Joe Mantegna, still according to BuzzFeed. The actor also revealed that it was following this dramatic event that he decided to name a character after the policeman, to pay homage to him. He was able to do this once he was cast in Criminal minds. “I had the opportunity to name this character”he confirmed. He then confided that the two men became of “great friends” after the real David Rossi discovered what the 77-year-old artist had done. According to Joe Mantegna, the former police officer was “very flattered” by this gesture.

The last season ofCriminal Minds has been available since June 2024. This 17th season was made up of only ten episodes that fans rushed to watch. But will there be another season of the series?
