NRJ12 has not yet admitted defeat. NRJ Group and its channel announced, Thursday, December 19, that they had filed two new appeals with the Council of State to contest the decision of the Audiovisual and Digital Communication Regulatory Authority (Arcom) to end its broadcast on the digital terrestrial television (DTT) from February 28, 2025.

“NRJ12 and NRJ Group request the suspension [par le juge des référés] and cancellation [par les juges du fond] of these decisions so that Arcom can re-examine the application of NRJ 12 »it is written in a press release.
The channel considers in particular that “Arcom negotiated the agreements in a framework not provided for by law by only allowing “pre-selected” candidates [en juillet] to improve their file » before its final decision, announced on December 12. She also prides herself on being a “pioneer DTT channel”asserting his “33.4 million viewers” per month, “with one of the highest proportions of viewers aged 15-49” either “one of the only channels that still appeals to a young audience”according to the press release.

A previous appeal from NRJ12, as well as from C8 in the same position, was rejected because it was filed too early in the selection process.
C8 has not announced that it has filed an appeal
The C8 channel, owned by the Canal+ group, in the hands of conservative billionaire Vincent Bolloré, has not yet announced that it has filed a new appeal, as it had said it intended to do. Cyril Hanouna’s company, H2O, which produces C8’s flagship show “Touche Pas à Mon Poste” (TPMP), repeated that“an appeal remains possible before the Council of State” in a letter addressed to its employees and read on air by the presenter, Thursday evening.
After the end of C8, on February 28, “There’s going to be a show, that’s for sure, it’s just a matter of the date”distilled Cyril Hanouna, whose TPMP program will find itself without a broadcast channel. “We’re doing everything so that it’s March 3”he said.
“We may have a TPMP co-broadcast on my channel [une nouvelle chaîne numérique qu’il est en train de monter] and elsewhere »starting with another channel from the CStar group, he continued. “Know that there is only good news”he then reassured, slipping: “It might be a blessing in disguise”.
