From January 2025, the government’s communications director, Geneviève Berti, will receive a mission letter from Didier Guillaume. She will then take on the role of “ foreshadowing » of this new channel. It will be necessary, among other things, to negotiate the exit of the TV5 Monde network. We remember that the principality had acquired 5.3% of the capital of TV5 Monde at the end of 2021 for 4.2 million euros, and thus becoming the sixth country to finance this channel. Launched on January 2, 1984, TV5 Monde is a simplified joint stock company (SAS), whose largest shareholder remains France Télévisions, with 46.4%, ahead of France Médias Monde (11.9%).
