There were fourteen amateur pastry chefs on the starting line at the launch of the 13th season of the Best pastry chefon M6. In a few weeks we will know who won the coveted title this year. Throughout the episodes presented by Laëtitia Milot, the candidates (six men and eight women) were put to the test on their technique and creativity. They outdid themselves with different themes each week: trompe-l’oeil, love, a return to childhood and even Halloween. They also met great pastry chefs, like Maxime Frédéric, crowned Best Pastry Chef of the Year 2022 by the Gault & Millau guide, or Étienne Leroy, World Pastry Champion in 2017, who sold the creation by Timothée in the Maison Lenôtre boutiques.
The Best Pastry Chef 2024 : a 100% male final for season 13
This is a first in the history of the gourmet competition always embodied by Cyril Lignac and Mercotte: this year, there are only men in the quarter-finals. After the elimination of Laurène last week, the final will necessarily be men’s since Romain, Tsiory, José, Benjamin and Timothée are the only ones still in competition. This Thursday, December 19, one of them will definitely leave the competition at the gates of the semi-finals. They will have to prove themselves on the theme of Portugal by representing one of the emblems of the country, reproduce the “mosaic bird cake” of Jorge Cardoso, World Pastry Champion and most decorated Portuguese chef and revisit the cult pastel de nata .

For the moment, Benjamin and Timothée have both obtained a blue apron, while Romain, returned to the competition after his elimination thanks to his victory in Who will return to the tent?has already had two, just like Tsiory.
