Prepare for explosive revelations and confrontations, as the *Dune: Prophecy* universe continues to expand with ever-higher stakes!

Return to the Imperium and new tensions on HBO Max!

The Dune: Prophecy series continues to raise the stakes with a fourth episode which promises to restart the main plot after an episode 3 devoted to flashbacks to Valya and Tula Harkonnen. With shocking revelations, intense confrontations, and the rise of Desmond Hart, the Empire seems on the verge of implosion. Here is everything you need to know before the long-awaited release of the next episode.

The Return of Desmond Hart and the Test of the Imperium

Episode 4 brings us back to the heart of the news Valya Harkonnen (Emily Watson)now Mother Superior, as she attempts to deal with the conflicts of her family past while fulfilling her duties to the Sisterhood. In a striking confrontation, his uncle Evgeny Harkonnen (Mark Addy) calls her a “black hole in this family.” But Valya, true to her resolve, retorts forcefully: “I will not apologize for my strength!” This tense reunion serves as a reminder that, despite her role within the Sisterhood, Valya remains haunted by the wounds of her childhood, notably her dramatic departure from Lankiveil and her attempts to escape a dysfunctional family.

During this time, Desmond Hart (Travis Fimmel) grows in power, causing growing fear in the Imperium. Gifted with a mysterious ability to resist the Voice and manipulate Emperor Javicco Corrino, Desmond exerts a devastating influence on the throne. The trailer for episode 4 shows him unleashing his powers on new targets, causing a terrifying death by internal combustion. This dark omen fuels the visions of the Sisterhood, who sense the imminent collapse of the Imperium. At their side, Tula (Olivia Williams), still marked by the events linked to Lila, finds herself confronted with crucial choices for the future of their order.

A turning point for the future?

With only three episodes remaining in this first season, episode 4 will have to juggle multiple storylines: the weight of Valya’s past, the rise to power of Desmond, and the machinations of secondary characters like Keiran Atreides (Chris Mason) and Princess Ynez (Sarah-Sofie Boussnina). The trailer suggests that this episode will mark a decisive turning point for the evolution of the Sisterhood as a future Bene Gesserit. However, uncertainty hangs over a potential season 2, and many intrigues remain to be resolved. Episode 4, scheduled for December 8, 2024 at 6 a.m. on HBO Max, could well be the one where everything speeds up.
