Dr. House back on screen? These words which will delight the fans

Twenty years after the first episode of Dr Houseand twelve years after his last goodbye, hope remains among some fans to see Hugh Laurie return in his guise. The creator of the series shared his opinion on this idea.

It has already been twenty years since viewers discovered Gregory House. In November 2004, the famous cantankerous doctor took his first limping steps on American television. After eight seasons and an ending around which a fan theory continues to thrive, Dr House bowed out. On the occasion of the anniversary of the series, available on Netflix and Prime Video, creator David Shore gave a long interview to Entertainment Weekly. He took the opportunity to raise the possibility of a special episode, which would see the characters reunite. If he says he never really considered it, he “won’t say[t] not no”. “But these things are very difficult to do. We don't want to spoil anything. […] But at the same time, it’s true that we had fun, and it could be fun to get together”develops David Shore.

The hope of a return Dr House is not completely dead

However, there is no question of taking this project – which is not really one at the moment – lightly. “You have to have the right story, the one that pleases everyone, and all of our schedules would have to match, which is perhaps the hardest part of all this”laughed David Shore, aware of the different projects carried out by each person since the end of the series. After Dr Housestar Hugh Laurie starred in Veep then in Why not Evans?among other series. He was also seen in the cinema in Holmes & Watson or even The Personal History of David Copperfield.

Will we one day see a spin-off of Dr House ?

The other actors are not left out. Omar Epps, the interpreter of Dr. Eric Foreman, played in This is Us et A perfect couplenotably. We could see Robert Sean Leonard (James Wilson) in Good Doctor or The Gilded Age. Besides, there is no question for David Shore of succumbing to the call of spin-offs with one of these characters. “Even after all this time, I would hate to focus on just one of these characters because I loved them all and I don't want anyone to feel shortchanged because they weren't cast.”explains the screenwriter.
