Heat wave (The Dry in original version) is a film directed by Robert Connolly, released in 2020. The story follows Aaron Falk (Eric Bana), a federal agent who returns to his hometown after more than twenty years of absence to attend the funeral of his childhood friend, Luke.
The latter is accused of having killed his wife and child before committing suicide. Doubting Luke's guilt, Aaron decides to conduct his own investigation, reviving old memories and buried secrets.
The film is adapted from the bestselling novel The Dry by Jane Harper, which captivated readers with its oppressive atmosphere and controlled suspense. The translation to the screen retains this tension, offering a deep immersion into the mysteries of an isolated community.
