As the summer holidays approach, M6 is already looking ahead to the September return to school. The channel has revealed his plans for the new season at a press conference held on Wednesday, June 26. This presentation confirmed the return of the most popular shows, while raising questions about the future of certain new products for which the audiences are not there. Fans of Love Is in the Meadow, Top Chef and Married at First Sight can therefore rest assured. There is no question for M6 of removing these programs which bring together many fans. These three shows will be back on the air with new seasons. These flagship programs have contributed to the success of M6 and continue to attract loyal viewers, which thus ensures their place in the back-to-school grid.

M6: uncertainties regarding new programs

On the other hand, some recently launched programs do not benefit not with the same enthusiasm. La Grande semaine, presented by Ophélie Meunier, is in difficulty. Indeed, broadcast every Saturday between 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., this current affairs program attracts an average of 475,000 viewers, or only 4.1% market share. Guillaume Charles, general director of programs at M6, expressed his doubts about the renewal of this program. “We are going to take stock, It’s too early to tell”, did he declare. Ouch.

But this is not the only program on the carpet. Indeed, Destination X, presented by Philippe Bas and broadcast on Thursday evening, is also on hold. Despite an audience of 1.4 million viewers on average, which represents 18.1% market share, the show struggles to completely convince. Guillaume Charles admitted to being disappointed by the results, “ Some small weaknesses have been identified. in the program”.

The end of a cult show on M6

This is sad news for Objectif Top Chef fans. Indeed, the program presented by Philippe Etchebest could not to return to the air. Launched in 2014, the show has enjoyed some success, notably allowing apprentice chefs to join the ranks of Top Chef. However, after changes in the casting and especially the absence of Philippe Etchebest Last year, the show appeared to have reached the end of its run. “I think we were maybe a bit at the end of the story. It happens…”Guillaume Charles said. The latter was keen to emphasize that this does not mean the definitive end of this type of program culinary on M6. You can therefore find The Best Bakery in France and All in the Kitchen.

A new start for Philippe Etchebest

Philippe Etchebest, for his part, embarks in a new adventure with A Chef at the End of the World. In this show, the man who recently opened up about his private life will set off to discover Japanese gastronomy while exploring rigor and delicacy Japanese cuisine. This journey will lead him to discover unique culinary traditions, from the sumo diet to the tea ceremony, including the secrets of soy sauce. “A deeply inspiring journey who will undoubtedly leave a mark in his kitchen”, promises M6. And we must believe that the channel was not mistaken since the chef recently declared: “Thinking about everything I learned and tasted during my trip to the land of the rising sun, I tell myself that Japanese cuisine is not about to stop fascinate and inspire the whole world. » Despite the end of some programs, M6 promises fascinating new adventures.
