This Monday, November 18, a new channel is arriving for fans of thrills and criminal investigations: RTL District. This unique channel, offered by RTL, intends to captivate viewers by immersing them in the daily life of those who devote their lives to order and justice.
Good news for fans of true crimes, legal cases and investigations: RTL is launching a channel dedicated to these stories of crimes, murders and justice, called RTL District. More than a simple channel, RTL District wants to be a “city” driven by permanent tension, where each district represents a particular aspect of the legal world. Whether you’re passionate about famous crime cases or high-voltage emergencies, you’ll find something to satisfy your interest in the world of law.
On this occasion, Julie Denayer, emblematic figure of RTL in this register, spoke to Ciné Télé Revue: “We know that there is a truly passionate audience for this type of program.“, she says. Investigations and criminal cases are increasingly captivating the public, and this new channel is there to satisfy this curiosity, in particular thanks to the rebroadcast of many successful programs from the main channel.

“I think that, for years, we have noticed that there is a real demand from viewers for suspense shows, current events and tension-filled programs. This is how the idea of creating this fourth channel was born, especially for this audience of enthusiasts. It’s a way of giving a gift to our viewers, who will now be able to watch this type of program at any time, whenever they want.“, continues the presenter.
Different “neighborhoods”
The RTL District program offers the best news, crime and emergency programs. The channel is organized into different “districts”, each dedicated to specific content. In the law enforcement district, Bertrand Caroy and his colleagues immerse you in fascinating investigations that explore the daily life and challenges of those who ensure our security. Next door, the Crime Masters’ Quarters presents shows like A Perfect Crime and Portraits of Killers, which delve into the minds of criminals and trace the most disturbing cases. These programs will continue to be broadcast with new episodes on RTL-TVI, particularly on Tuesday evenings.
For Julie Denayer, the channel is not limited to tragic stories. She would like to clarify to our colleagues: “This is not a channel where there will only be murders and rapes! There are also areas like ‘Urgent Affairs’ or ‘Police Planet’, which present great stories with happy endings, like in Emergency Helicopter, even if they bring a little tension. But just because there is suspense doesn’t mean everything ends badly.“
Out of respect for the magistrates and the people being judged, the Face au Juge program will not be rebroadcast.
