Members of the“Deliver Words” association met on Monday June 3, 2024, the CE2 and CM2 classes of the Antoinette Marre school in Thil-en-Vexin (Eure) in order to offer around a hundred books to children.

Works on harassment and ecology

Stephanie Ferreirathe president, Eric, her husband and secretary, and two volunteers distributed two books to each student.

Among the books offered to schoolchildren, the teachers chose “The tennis player and the racketeers” by Didier Zanon and “The Green Olympics” of Gérard Hubert-Richou.

Two very current books at a time when the Roland-Garros tournament is taking place and two months before the Paris Olympic Games.

“We are essentially working on two very important issues for us, ecology and harassment. »

A give-and-take partnership

The students also received a leisure book that they chose from a selection established by the teachers.

For three years, the association has received considerable help from the different classes in preparation for the book fair that it organizes every year.

In addition to numerous books, the school receives in return the chance to welcome authors who come to tell their stories and answer students’ questions thanks to “Deliver words”.

“I know very few schools with this opportunity, this support, I really want to thank Ms. Ferreira,” specifies the CM2 teacher.

Very moved, Stéphanie Ferreira and her team were offered a gift from the students: a box in which there were little words that were probably touching and filled with love.

As part of the 80th anniversary of the Liberation, the Délivrez des mots association with the support of the municipality will offer a conference “The Allies cross the Seine and liberate the Vexin” hosted by Patrick Coiffier on Friday September 13 and an exhibition from September 14 to September 16 at the village hall.
