As of November 14, 2024, Eurosport is leaving Canal+ offers, leaving subscribers in uncertainty.
On the Canal+ support site, the questions are numerous, but the answers are much fewer. Since the announcement, on October 14, of the disappearance of Eurosport from Canal+ offers from this Thursday, November 14, questions have multiplied.
Still accessible to subscribers at the time of writing, the various channels in the Eurosport bouquet are no longer marketed as part of the encrypted channel's sports pack.
A conflict that could be resolved
At issue, a financial conflict between Warner Bros Discovery (owner of Eurosport) and the Canal+ group, who therefore decided to end the Eurosport distribution contract to the great dismay of subscribers who then benefited from an XXL sports pack, boosted in September by the arrival of new Canal+ Sport channels.
After the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, which Eurosport broadcast in full, the honeymoon with Canal+ ended up coming to an end. But according to information from Tech&Co, negotiations between the two parties are “still ongoing” and could lead to a new agreement, perhaps even in the coming hours.
Because on its site, subscribers still hope that Canal+ and Warner Bros Discovery will reverse course and therefore reconsider their divorce. Testimonies nevertheless show that Canal+ customer service tends to contain subscribers, for example by offering them commercial discounts.
However, it is possible to cancel your subscription at any time, even if the commitment is still in progress, as customer service confirmed to Tech&Co.
Contacted, Canal+ has not yet responded.
