We knew that the writing of this season 3 began with showrunner Ryan Condal and screenwriters, in agreement with George RR Martin, the author of the novel Fire & Blood, from which the series is adapted. “We know where the story ends, where we want to get to, and the stories we want to cover to get there. The full history of the Targaryens has not yet been written, but that part was written in full in the first volume of Fire and Blood, so we have all the information we need. We had in-depth conversations with George [R. R. Martin]and it’s very beneficial to know where the series is going and where we want to take it” Condal reported to Techradar.

The showrunner also specified that he wasn’t waiting for the green light from HBO to start writing. “HBO hasn’t cast me yet, but like we did last year. We want to be ready if HBO executives give us the green light.”

HBO will therefore not have waited long to confirm this. This premature formalization demonstrates the confidence that reigns within the channel and its broadcaster Max, regarding the future audiences that the series will generate, which continues to gain in popularity.
