Against the backdrop of local legend, the assassination of a hotel manager shakes the entire archipelago.

Anne DECIS Audrey POSTEL

That morning, on the Caribbean archipelago, the return from fishing did not have the same flavor as usual. The traditional technique of working with a net from the beach to bring in a lot of fish has nevertheless proven effective.

But alas, this time it is a lifeless body. That of a blonde woman, in her forties, draped in a long vintage yellow and white dress. She has several marks of a grip and above all a frontal wound of a good five centimeters. Caroline Boissaux is directly identified. Not difficult: she is the owner of the famous Hôtel Tourment d’Amour. For captain Gaëlle Boissaux, of no relation, the reference to the legend of the alone is obvious.

In 1822, a woman named Caroline fell in love with the French explorer Christophe-Paulin de La Poix. Desperate not to see him return from a new mission at sea, she ends up throwing herself off a cliff, her lover’s letters stuck to her. So, suicide? The day before, when the businesswoman went to the famous costume party which takes place every year at Fort Napoléon, she had clashed with a competitor. Not to mention that she had also just fired an important employee from her hotel.

To carry out her investigation, Gaëlle finds herself flanked by Ludovic Augustin, her childhood sweetheart from whom she did not part on good terms. The Anne Décis-Denis Maréchal duo does very well in the role of cops, former lovers who end up reconciling. Around them, the casting is uneven, but Audrey Postel (warrant officer Diane Da Silva) and Olivier Chantreau (Régis Boissaux, Caroline’s brother) produce a quality copy.

Broadcast on October 19 on 3 at 9:05 p.m.
