Faced with TF1’s “Master of the Game” – a show by Laurent Ruquier which made a successful audience debut -, M6 will be banking on a new episode of “Nightmare in the Kitchen” this Friday, October 18, 2024. From 9:10 p.m., Philippe Etchebest will take the helm from Thoissey (Ain) to help a restaurant in difficulty.
What mission for Philippe Etchebest in Thoissey?
The PAF’s most famous chef will have the mission of saving “Chez le Père Alex”, an establishment taken over by Alexis last year. After twenty-eight years as a restaurant employee, he set out to run his own restaurant. Although its beginnings were glorious, it suffered a significant loss of customers over the months. Filming for this new episode of “Nightmare in the Kitchen” took place in June. The show’s teams have set up their quarters in Alexis’ establishment, located at 10 Place des Dombes in Thoissey. With Le Progrès, the former restaurant employee returned to the reasons why he called on Philippe Etchebest. “The situation in restaurants is very complicated, it’s a struggle for everyone, the crisis, the increases, the electricity… Everything is increasing, it’s very complicated…”, he confided.
“It’s my first business, I invested everything and it was very difficult for me to recover from the lack of customers for a while. At one point, I found myself at rock bottom. I was going to have to close … But I am a fighter, I knew the show, I contacted M6 and I was selected”he added. Alexis assured that she did not fear any consequences from the broadcast of her participation in the show, in particular criticism that could be expressed by M6 viewers on social networks.

“It’s not because we call it ‘Nightmare in the Kitchen’ that we have difficulties in terms of hygiene. It’s also financial management problems… Everything plays a role”he wanted to clarify. The manager of the restaurant “Chez le Père Alex” then reaffirmed his serenity. “It’s still a show, but it doesn’t leave you hanging. There’s a follow-up behind it”he underlined before adding: “I’ll be honest: after the broadcast, I’ll see how it goes… It’ll be up to people to do what they want. They want to come and eat, it will be perfect. They like it so much better, they come back so much better , if they don’t come, that’s how it is.”.
Regardless, Alexis played his last card by calling on the services of Philippe Etchebest. “We have to come and test it. It has to work. It really has to work. It was my last card.
