This is one of the surprises of this new season of “Star Academy”. The program, which returns on Saturday October 12 on TF1, saw a large part of the teaching staff change compared to the previous edition, won by Pierre Garnier. Adeline Toniutti, who has been providing singing lessons since the return of tele-hook in 2022, is not renewed for a season 3. She is replaced by Sofia Morgavi, actress, opera singer, but also already a singing teacher. She even founded a school of public speaking arts called “Supravocal”.
Lyrical singer but not only
“She comes from opera, she has lyrical training“, explained Rémi Faure, director of streaming programs for the TF1 group, during the press presentation of the teachers of this new season. “And yet we rummaged through her phone to look at her playlists and she listens to rap! She is a bit of a jack-of-all-trades artist who has worked in television, theater and cinema.“, continued the leader.
The coach from Toulon is indeed very eclectic. For example, she played a starred chef in several episodes of “Plus belle la vie, encore plus belle”, but also played for 4 years the role of Simone in the play “Et pendant ce temps Simone Veille”. Sofia Morgavi also gave voice in operas such as “La Traviata”, “The Marriage of Figaro” and “Aida”. In addition to the school she founded, she teaches at the Paris Conservatory.

What will his classes at the “Star Academy” castle look like? The artist and professor gave some indications during the presentation press conference. “It will be both academic and serious but also full of creativity and fantasy“, teased the singer, who explained using “the technique of Italian lyrical singing, classified as intangible heritage by UNESCO“. A technique which aims “to highlight the vocal qualities of each academician and to reveal their timbre“, she promised.
In total, there are 4 teachers entering the castle this season. In addition to Sofia Morgavi, Hugues Hamelynck arrives at the theater, Ladji Doucouré replaces Coach Joe in sports and Fanny Delaigue will support Lucie Bernardoni in the role of coach. Marlène Schaff, for her part, had a sort of promotion: she will now teach stage expression classes.
