This Thursday, October 10, 2024, The Best Pastry Chef made its big return to M6 for a 13th season full of treats and new features. Actress Laëtitia Milot, known for her roles in successful series, took over the reins of the show after the departure of Marie Portolano. Enthusiastic and caring, Laëtitia already seems perfectly at ease in her new role, alongside the 14 amateur pastry chefs who will try to seduce the jury made up of Cyril Lignac and Mercotte.
Belgian Laetitia impresses viewers
For this first week of competition, the candidates were immersed in the heart of the matter as soon as they arrived under the famous tent. Their mission? Create a cake stand that looks like them, thus transforming the space into a real market of flavors. “We need to understand who you are and get to know you at a glance… Don’t worry, we’ll find out quickly”launched Cyril Lignac. This challenge allowed the jury to discover their creativity and their pastry world. From the start, a candidate was able to attract the attention of Internet users. This is Laetitia, a Belgian artist, who was the first to meet the host.
To start the discussion, they started by having fun with their first names. “What a pretty name,” said the amateur pastry chef. Very quickly, she brought Laetitia Millot’s gaze to the portrait cakes she created. “Did you see the surprise”she asked the host, before revealing her personalized cakes, on which she drew the portrait of Laëtitia Millot, Cyril Lignac and Mercotte. “You really have a great gift.”retorted the presenter, stunned by this realization. And she wasn’t the only one. New products that shake up habits
At the end of this first test, two candidates received the jury’s awards: Timothée, 16 years old, the youngest of the adventure, and Benjamin, a former soldier from Le Havre. Their talent immediately appealed to Cyril and Mercotte. A first step which allows us to gauge the level of this new promotion which is facing big changes! New castle, but above all change during the Mercotte technical test. Traditionally, the oldest member of the jury proposes a formidable technical challenge that the candidates must reproduce blindly. But this year, for the first time in the history of the show, Mercotte gave way to prestigious pastry chefs, each in turn coming to put the candidates to the test. And these are renowned chefs who will come and give a hard time.
