On the one hand, Arthur. On the other, Cyril Hanouna. Two presenters who have made a place for themselves on our small screens and who have been a hit for years with their entertainment shows. And although there is room for everyone on television, they are waging a merciless war. It is also not uncommon to see them quarreling via media. But what really happened between Arthur and Cyril to cause tensions to be so high?
Cyril Hanouna reveals the reason for his quarrel with Arthur
Known for his frankness, Cyril Hanouna did not hesitate to reveal the real reason for his falling out with Arthur on the set of Touche pas à mon poste in 2021. “I’ll tell you the truth. He wanted to be friends with me again. He called me, we had lunch together and I said: ‘Come on, let’s erase everything that happened before'”he initially revealed before revealing that he had been the victim of betrayal on the part of someone who suffers from a health problem: “And then, behind my back, he never told me, he did a show with my producer whom he poached to go to his house and in front of TPMP. I didn’t find it very fair play. And since that day, I said: ‘Stop, let’s stop talking to each other. It’s over. We close the debate there, everyone makes their own life'”.
The TF1 host weighs in on the true character of Cyril Hanouna
It’s no secret that Arthur and Cyril Hanouna have clashed on several occasions. Already in 2016, and when he was accused of plagiarism by the latter, the host of Friday everything is permitted did not hesitate to retort in the columns of TV Mag. “Cyril is not my enemy. At one time, it was Thierry Ardisson who winnowed me. I was glad he was the one to do it. If you have to choose your enemies, you might as well choose brilliant and intelligent people…”he declared thus.
And to continue about the true character of his counterpart: “I have known Cyril Hanouna for twenty years. He’s a good guy, a little too impulsive, a little too under pressure. That’s all. The Cyril I know doesn’t have a bad background. It’s the story of the frog who wanted to become as big as the ox”. Bitter, Arthur also wanted to give a reminder: “What’s a shame is that Cyril forgot that he took his first steps with me in Planetarthur, on Fun radio. And that he went to Comédie! to do sequences that I produced with Endemol”.
Arthur: “He’s not my best friend”
A year later, Arthur, who also openly criticized the French, was the guest of the Grand Direct des Media on Europe 1. And when he did not expect it, the host was questioned about his colleague of C8. Obviously not seduced by the idea of raising the subject, the 58-year-old man launched cash: “I’m not interested”. And finally continue: “You just have to listen to what he said about me to tell yourself that he’s not my best friend. But I actually don’t care, it’s not a problem. (…) I learned one thing in this profession and not only with Cyril, because I have nothing in particular against this young man, and that is that you should not expect any gratitude. Once you have done things, you must do them for yourself and not to get something in return.. Is a definitive reconciliation still possible?
