July 13 & 14, 2023: Program of festivities in Montpellier

The National Day festivities will begin on Thursday, July 13 with various events specially planned for children. First of all, a military ceremony will be held at Peyrou at 7 p.m.. Then, at 9.30 p.m., a distribution of torches will be organized for the children on the forecourt of the Opéra Comédie. Then, the procession will once again go to Place Royale, where Mayor Michaël Delafosse will deliver a speech followed by a show for children on the theme of La Marseillaise. The Water Tower will be highlighted by light effects, according to information provided by the town hall.

The program for Thursday July 13 in Montpellier:

7 p.m. – Royal Square of Peyrou

  • Taking up arms as part of the National Day

9:30 p.m. – Forecourt of the Opéra Comédie

  • Distribution of torches to children
  • Departure of the procession accompanied by a brass band. Arrival on the Peyrou esplanade
  • Address by the Mayor
  • Refreshments offered to children

10-30-11 p.m. – Peyrou Esplanade

  • Show for children on the theme of The Marseillaise with lighting of the water tower
