“It’s a mixture of relief, worry and anger”reacted Saturday January 25 on franceinfo Sacha Ghozlan, lawyer for relatives of hostages at the Paris bar and co-founder of the association of victims of October 7, after the release of four Israeli soldiers detained by Hamas.
-“Relief, since we see that four young women have been released”he explains, recalling that they were “observers” and that on their unit of “25 people”, “there are only five who survived”. “It is also a concern, since we know that this agreement [de trêve] is extremely fragile, that we have no information on the life or death of the other hostages, in particular the two Frenchmen Ofer Kalderon and Ohad Yahalomi, who are still being held.” He adds that he also feels “disgust” seeing the “propagandist you Hamas” and the “macabre scene” of the release of the hostages.
The hospital to which the four soldiers were admitted announced that their state of health was “stable”, but Sacha Ghozlan retorts that he “don’t know what that means.” The lawyer recalls that “all the hostages, whether children or adults, lived in extremely inhumane conditions”contrary to all international conventions: “people who have lived in tunnels for months, who have not seen the light of day, […] who have not eaten their fill”. He also points out the “sexual crimes” dont “some of the female hostages were victims.” “Now the job for these ex-hostages will be to rehabilitate themselves, find their loved ones and return to the living.”
Sacha Ghozlan estimates that “the process” truce and release of hostages is “extremely fragile”. “As long as the more than 90 remaining hostages are not released, we will maintain extreme vigilance. And even if they are released, we will continue, after the diplomatic phase, with the judicial phase.” The lawyer counts “72 French victims” et “26 complaints which were filed in Paris”.
