I transformed my TV into Xbox for less than 100 euros and here is the verdict

It’s been almost a month since the end of year celebrations are over and that the month of January does not end. The opportunity for me to come back to one of the presents I gave myself for the period: a 4K Stick TV Fire and a subscription to the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. After a week of vacation and a month to use it fully, I am delighted with the experience. Here is what I think.

To start, I’m going to give you a secret: this is the first time I have been entering the Xbox ecosystem. At 30, better late than never.

My Samsung TV dating from 2016 does not have Tizenos, and therefore not the Xbox application. However, it is this app that allows you to enjoy the gaming cloud via the Game Pass. This is why the acquisition of an HDMI TV key was more than beneficial. Indeed, recently, the Amazon Fire Stick support the Xbox application, as is LG TV.

Lies of P, Indiana Jones, Baldur’s Gate… The Game Pass catalog is long enough to take care. At the rate of 17.99 euros per month for the Ultimate Formula, and if you have time to devote to it, this is undoubtedly the best offer to finish your list of pending games. Only problem, the catalog games do not belong to you, even if it is renewed regularly.

Take into account that if you are fond of competitive games, especially FPS, this solution is not yet suitable as responsiveness is not there. On the other hand, for a little quieter games, even Souls-likethe combination does the trick.

At the accounting level, the Fire Stick at 70 euros, coupled with the controller at 50 euros, make the investment more profitable than a console at 300 euros. Be careful however, this solution is aimed above all for an audience of more indulgent players looking for a turnkey solution to play. This confirms a trend at Microsoft: everything may be an Xbox.
