France team captain Kylian Mbappé shone during Real Madrid’s convincing 3-0 victory over Valladolid on January 25, 2025. Mbappé opened the scoring in the 30th minute, scoring a nice a one-two with Jude Bellingham, ending with a powerful right-footed strike that left Valladolid goalkeeper Karl Hein unresponsive.
His second goal came in the 57th minute during a quick counter-attack. After showing some great team play with Rodrygo, Mbappé received the ball on the left flank of the penalty area and calmly slipped it past Hein, doubling Madrid’s lead.
Although Madrid maintained control for the majority of the match, it looked like Mbappé would end the night without a hat-trick. However, during added time, the referee reviewed a controversial intervention by Mario Martín on Bellingham, which was deemed worthy of a penalty after consulting the VAR screen. The 26-year-old new winger then converted the penalty, sealing the Merengues’ convincing victory.
