After a victory against the Lightning on Tuesday, The Canadian will be back in action on Thursday when he visits the Red Wings in Detroit.
Indeed, after winning an important match against a rival team in their division, the head coach’s men, Martin St. Louiswill play on the ice at Little Caesars Arena tomorrow evening.
For the occasion, St. Louis decided to fire the goalkeeper Samuel Montembeault in the fray.
Montembeault was solid once again Tuesday against Tampa, stopping 33 of 35 shots aimed at him.
This will be another important matchup in the playoff race. The Red Wings, although 5 points behind the CH, should be tough opponents until the very end of the season. It will therefore be important to maintain a lead over them in the rankings.
-This return of Montembeault in goal confirms that his number 1 goalkeeper position is well in place despite the impressive performances of Jakub Dobes.
The rookie will continue to support Monty and should see action next Saturday or Tuesday. The Canadian can count himself lucky to have such an efficient goalkeeper duo.
