Nathanaël Peaquin concludes the World University Games in Turin in style by winning gold in the mass-start. The French women at the foot of the podium.

A golden conclusion for Nathanaël Peaquin, the Blues frustrated

The World University Games end as they began for the French team: with a gold medal. On the mass-start masculine, Nathanaël Peaquin has won the most beautiful metal. Remaining on two fourth places in Turin, the 20-year-old Savoyard made the difference at the best of times. Third before the last shot, he signed a magnificent flawless performance to definitively fly towards gold.

17/20 shooting for Nathanaël Peaquinthus succeeding Axel Garnier, winner two years earlier at the World University Games in Lake Placid. The Swede Karl Gronland (19/20) takes silver while bronze goes to the Kazakhstani Kirill Bauer (16/20). For the two other French people involved: Adrien Baylac (15/20) ninth and Paul (13/20) twelfth.

For the French, this last race in Italy is somewhat frustrating. In the lead before taking the last shot standing, Amélie Broutier et Noémie Remonnay have made mistakes several times. An opportunity seized by the Ukrainian Daryna Chalyk (17/20), in gold this Wednesday, but also by her compatriot Oleksandra Merkushyna (18/20) second. The German Luise Mueller (18/20) completes the podium.

The Tricolores must be satisfied with the places of honor: Noémie Remonnay (16/20) fourth, Amélie Broutier (17/20) fifth and Lisa Siberchicot (15/20) sixth.
