Gas leak in front of the Niort SNCF station

A gas leak occurred this Tuesday, January 21, 2025 around 9:45 a.m., after a public works machine damaged a pipe, rue Mazagran, in front of the Niort SNCF station. Fifteen people inside the station had to be confined to the platform. A security perimeter has been set up.

Vehicle traffic was interrupted while the intervention took place, for around twenty minutes. Rail traffic was also paralyzed during this period. Thirteen firefighters were mobilized as well as a GRDF team.
