In Quimper, we did not go far from the triggering of the Kidnapping Alert system this weekend of January 18-19, 2025. A 31-year-old Quimper resident was in fact referred to the Quimper public prosecutor’s office this Monday, January 20 for the kidnapping and confinement of his two and a half year old son during the weekend.
He is suspected of having kidnapped the latter from the home of his mother, who had custody of him, during the night from Saturday to Sunday, with the help of an accomplice.
Brought back by grandfather
Alerted, the Quimper public prosecutor’s office at one point thought of launching the Kidnapping Alert before a third person, who would be the child’s grandfather, brought the boy back to his mother a few hours later. Placed in police custody, the father should appear Tuesday January 21 before the Quimper court according to the principle of immediate appearance.
