We can all agree that January was a terrible month for the legendary F40. One car was involved in a crash in the UK, while another was damaged in a minor accident in Monaco. On the other hand, there is nothing to criticize about this F40. The Ferrari appears in an official image signaling Lewis Hamilton’s arrival at Maranello. January 20, 2025 will go down in history as the first day of LH at Ferrari.
The seven-time Formula 1 champion is known for his eccentric fashion choices, but this time it was different. As elegant as Enzo Ferrari, the 40-year-old British driver was impeccably dressed. After posing with the iconic F40 at the team’s headquarters, the British driver went to the Ferrari circuit in Fiorano to meet Fred Vasseur, team director, and Benedetto Vigna, general manager.
Hamilton is no stranger to road-going Ferraris, having owned at least three cars bearing the prancing horse brand: a 599 GTO, a 599 SA Aperta and a LaFerrari. We probably won’t have to wait long before we see him take on the F80 hypercar or the Purosangue SUV.
It’s worth noting that before leaving Mercedes after 12 successful years, Hamilton ordered a road-legal AMG ONE with a real F1 engine. Hamilton is one of 275 buyers, alongside former F1 drivers David Coulthard and Nico Rosberg.
-According to our sister site, Motorsport.com, Hamilton will drive a Ferrari F1 for the first time on January 22. The Briton will take the wheel of the F1-75, the single-seater used during the 2022 season. His teammate, Charles Leclerc, will also be at Fiorano this Wednesday. Other tests are planned in Spain, on the Barcelona-Catalunya circuit, at the end of the month.
