74 firefighters were called to control an apartment fire on the second floor of a building in the city center of (Jura) on Sunday January 19, 2025 around 9:30 p.m. The fire left four seriously injured.

The alert was given around 9:30 p.m. The Jura firefighters were called to a violent apartment fire in the city center of Dole (Jura). The fire broke out on the second floor of a building which has three floors, Place de la sous-préfecture.

On an amateur video, filmed from the palace and recovered by France 3 Franche-Comté, we see high flames escaping from the windows of the accommodation and two occupants trapped. They are rescued by firefighters who come to meet them with a ladder. Very impressive images of the blaze.

No less than 74 firefighters and 30 engines were mobilized at the height of the intervention, the disaster caused four victims. In serious condition, they were taken care of by the fire brigade and SMUR teams from Dole and Besançon who came as reinforcements.

Jean-Baptiste Gagnoux, the mayor of Dole, was present on the scene. “The fire is still in progress this night, it will require the presence of our firefighters all night”he indicated on his Facebook account.

The elected official also specified that “several access points will be closed at place de la sous-préfecture, rue du government, rue Arney and rue Rockefeller” this Monday morning. “This will also disrupt the bus network and access to the Rockefeller school and the Pasteur high school”adds the mayor of Dole.
