The young American talent Learner Tien (121e), winner of world No.5 Daniil Medvedev at 2e round of the Australian Open, lost Monday in the round of 16 in Melbourne against the Italian Lorenzo Sonego (55e). The 19-year-old left-hander was beaten 6-3, 6-2, 3-6, 6-1 by his eldest (29 years old) who thus qualified for the first time in his career for the quarter-finals of a Grand Slam tournament.

Gaël Monfils or Ben Shelton in quarters?

Lorenzo Sonego will face in the next round the winner of the duel between the French Gaël Monfils (41e) and the American Ben Shelton (20e), who was in the second set when the Italian’s match ended.
