Who says new edition, says changes. This year, the Carcassonne International Political Film Festival is unveiling a brand new jury for its short film competition. This is entirely composed of three content creators.
First, Louis Rossignol, from the Intercut Youtube channel on which he shares his passion for the big screen. In addition to this project, the young man trained at the Lyon cinema faculty. He gradually made a place for himself in the industry by working on the production of feature films, documentaries and series on video-on-demand platforms like Netflix and Amazon Prime.
Pauline Jannon, for her part, is a psychiatrist and founder of the Super Seven association. Active on social networks, she develops her passion for the seventh art around various projects such as production, criticism and strategic support of films with their distributors.
Finally, Lauriane Hamont, journalist and author, maintains her Instagram account entitled Culture and botany by publishing videos in particular in which she discusses cinema and art in a global way while striving to make everything accessible to as many people as possible.
-Through this choice of casting, the objective stated by the Carcassonne International Political Film Festival is to bring a modern and refreshing perspective to the selection. They “will enrich the festival by bringing contemporary reflection on political issues through cinema”is it directly indicated in the presentation press release. The arrival of these content creators should therefore enable the promotion of an inclusive approach to cinema, “by reaching younger generations and highlighting award-winning films to their audiences.”
In total, six short films are in competition: Fuck les whitesJeremy Peter Allen; The Man who could not remain silent, de Nebosja Slijepcevic; Shadowsde Rand Beiruty ; Titanic, suitable version for iranian familiesde Farnoosh Samadi ; Transalpineby Clara Nicolas; And Léo Gatinot et Father’s letters, by Alexey Evstigneev. The prize will be awarded by the trio during the closing ceremony which takes place this Monday, January 20.
