This Sint-Truiden – Standard promises us a great match in the match between two coaches used to our D1A. Better still, Felice Mazzu and Ivan Leko know the opposite camp well. As for the first city, the link with Standard will always remain special, whether for his past as Carole coach or through his abortive flirtations with Rouches.
As for Ivan Leko, it is even more direct: the Croatian coach in fact set down his bags at Stayen during the 2016/2017 season. This was his second experience as T1 after a stint in Louvain and a role as assistant to Igor Tudor in the Greek championship.

His adventure in Limburg left everyone with good memories: with a group that included Boli Bolingoli, Brandon Mechele, Stef Peeters, Alexis De Sart, Casper De Norre, Peter Gerkens, Roman Bezus and the very young Alessio Castro Montes , Leko (photo on occasion against René Weiler’s Anderlecht) had done a good job.
-“We won Playoffs 2 and we played the final against Genk, fourth in Playoffs 1. It remains one of my best periods as a coach” remembers Ivan Leko in Het Belang van Limburg.
He then had to report to Roland Duchâtelet, also well known to supporters of the Standard : “With him, everything was clear” explains Leko. If the current coach of Rouches will leave all this aside for 90 minutes, there is no doubt that he will recall these memories with pleasure in the bays of Stayen.
