Super XIII – In numerical superiority, Pia takes over Villefranche – League

With Lenny Chachoua in MVP mode and a red card for Dredin Sorensen, Pia emerged victorious (50 to 24). This victory allows the Baroudeurs to climb to fourth place in the Super XIII.

Defeated by last week, the Baroudeurs were counting on the arrival of Villefranche to revive themselves and take their revenge from the first leg, where Pia lost 27-26.

There was no need to be late at the Daniel Ambert stadium for this Super XIII clash. After only a few minutes of a fierce duel around the held, the Salanquais opened the scoring through their center Théo Bonneriez who took a good interval in the defense of Villefranche, transformed by the local scorer Alan Baby, (3′, 6- 0).

Few hand faults at the start of the match, Villefranche begins to advance more and more, but it is indeed Pia who once again materializes their arrival in the opposing camp. Lenny Chachoua, one of the best halfbacks in the championship currently, mystifies the opposing defense by making two fake passes (15′, 12-0).

On one of the Wolves’ only incursions into the opposing camp, Romain Pallares’ low kick hit the mark, Alexandre Roux took it just before leaving the meadow, right under David Nofoaluma’s nose and beard. And the Aveyron striker, Pierre Carivenc, adds the two points of the transformation (19′ 12-6).

The attacks stand out particularly in this match, notably that of the Baroudeurs. Back in the opposing red zone, the strength of Théo Bonneriez once again made the difference to complete his double (23′ 16-6).

While there was no danger, the magician of the day released a new number. Lenny Chachoua breaks through on a new pass feint, and offers the try to Léo Laurent on a school two against one, (29′ 22-6).

Once again, following a lack of discipline on the part of the Catalan team, Villefranche came back to score. Romain Pallares finds Alexandre Roux in a good interval, which in turn marks his second achievement, which is transformed this time by Morgan Andral, (34′ 22-12).

A red card that hurts Wolves

As soon as the match resumed, Wolves center Dredin Sorensen was guilty of a very high tackle on Lenny Chachoua and the Australian player did not finish the match with Mr. Drizza giving him a red card. Hadrien Domargue receives a yellow card, he who tried to act as police, which is logically punished. This action can become important later in the game.

And following that, Lenny Chachoua will prove that this action will not change anything in his integrity. A new individual feat is created by the Salanquais half, in which he must force himself to extend his arm to become the third player to score a double, (53′ 28-12). And on a counter, following a lost ball, Damien Huescar took advantage and only accelerated to take the lead a little further (58′, 32-12).

With a fifth down played in hand, the whole Salanque stands up. The entire right side is in action, Théo Bonneriez releases the ball after contact for Damien Huescar’s double in just a few minutes (61′ 36-12).

And the afternoon continues to get complicated for the Wolves. On a small side played, David Nofoaluma gets rid of two defenders to score in his turn, (42-12). The Villefranche players don’t give up, and Alexandre Roux is the author of a hat-trick, with a copy and paste of his previous achievement (65′, 42-18).

But Pia continues his good form of the day, the Australian fullback David Nofoaluma interjected, makes an acrobatic bass to bring his winger Ilias Bergal to the party (70′, 46-18). And it’s not over, Alan Baby intercepts a ball, and Ilias Bergal concludes by beating the opponents at speed (74′, 50-18).

To end the match, Villefranche pillar Jack Glossop scored a strong try to reduce the score (78′, 50-24).

Pia therefore performed well, both in terms of victory and goal average.
