Works, conversations in transport… A third of French people have already become angry because of the noise, and often at someone. The noise level in urban spaces generates permanent discomfort, according to an acoustician.
-For many French people, noise generates discomfort and can harm living together: “My neighbors make their children jump over my head.”confides a local resident. In the countryside, bell towers or the crowing of a rooster sometimes act as nuisances.
For our ears, the daytime comfort threshold is 60 decibels. From 85 decibels, we reach the so-called threshold “critique”which can have consequences for our health. Christian Hugonnet, acoustician, denounces the noise in which we are immersed in Paris: “We are at 100 decibels, it’s really a very loud level”notes the specialist while measuring the sound of an ambulance. “Without vehicle passage, we remain at a constant level of 70 decibels all the time”he adds. Permanent hearing discomfort which acts directly on the hearing neurons in our brain. Removing the noise from your daily life has even become one of the criteria for future property buyers.
