Denis Law, legendary figure of Scottish football and Manchester United icon, has passed away at the age of 84. During his illustrious career, Law scored 237 goals in 404 appearances for the Red Devils, placing him third among the club’s all-time top scorers, behind Wayne Rooney and Bobby Charlton.

On the international stage, Law represented Scotland in 55 matches and scored thirty goals, making him the nation’s joint top scorer alongside Kenny Dalglish.

In an emotional statement, Law’s family expressed their grief, saying: “It is with great sadness that we must announce that our father, Denis Law, has passed away. He fought a hard fight, but he is now at peace. We would like to thank everyone who contributed to his well-being and care, both in the past and today. We know how much he was loved and supported, and we always have. appreciated this. Thank you very much.”

Law’s career also included spells at Huddersfield Town, Manchester City and Torino before he called time on his career in 1974. His notable achievements include two English league titles, an FA Cup and the FA Cup. Europe in 1968.

With George Best and Bobby Charlton, he formed the famous “Holy Trinity” at Manchester United. Individually, he won the Ballon d’Or in 1964, making him unique as the first Scot to receive this prestigious award.

Manchester United paid tribute to Law, saying: “He will always be celebrated as one of the greatest players in the club’s history and one of the most loved. The great goalscorer. His innate talent, his spirit and his love of the game made him a hero for an entire generation. Our deepest condolences to Denis’s family and friends will live on forever.”
