Carlos Alcaraz has good feelings during this Australian Open. The Spaniard won his first two rounds without forcing against Shevchenko and Nishioka, but had to work a little harder against Nuno Borges.
The 21-year-old lost his first set of the tournament but still won in four sets (6-2, 6-4, 6-7, 6-2).
In the third round, Alcaraz delighted the spectators at Rod Laver Arena. While Borges managed to draw him to the net on a drop shot, the Spaniard responded with a winning backhand lob while he was at the end of the race on the next shot.
-No doubt, Carlos Alcaraz is in good shape physically at the start of the season and confirms his ambition to win the only Grand Slam title missing from his record.
A quarter-finalist last year, the 21-year-old will play Draper or Vukic for a place in the second week.
