Man Utd v Southampton
At Old Trafford, Ruben Amorim’s Manchester United are hoping to reach the top by knocking Arsenal out of the FA Cup.
Bottom-of-the-table Southampton are their opponents, who will need to be at the top of their game to secure just their second victory this season.
The pressure is on youngsters Alejandro Garnacho and Amad Diallo to make an impact. The first to do so, however, was Andre Onana, who saved a shot from Kamaldeen Sulemana.
This early Saints effort was one of many, as the visitors look to pin the hosts in the early stages.
Ipswich v Brighton
Kieran McKenna’s Ipswich are hoping to move away from the looming relegation zone while Fabian Hürzeler’s Brighton are aiming for a European place.
Kaoru Mitoma was particularly active in midfield in the early appearances as the Seagulls controlled the pitch. João Pedro also sent a looping header wide, an opportunity he would like to return.
-Meanwhile, Nathan Broadhead’s curled effort was denied by Bart Verbruggen around the half-hour mark before Liam Delap’s fizzing strike from the edge of the area was too.
A first half characterized by few real chances, the score remained 0-0 at the break.
Premier League action continues this weekend, with Newcastle taking on Bournemouth to kick things off.
