In Amiens, the Somme Archives were victims of a flood. This follows a pipe rupture which took place on Monday.
Five premises where heritage documents are kept are affected. 210 meters of documents, including 100m directly affected, were evacuated. A restoration protocol has been put in place. Reading and meeting rooms serve as fallback areas for damaged documents.
As a result, the Departmental Archives are closed to the public until the end of February.
