A hostage taking took place this Thursday morning in Meyzieu, located in the metropolis of Lyon, according to information from Progress. Two people were held hostage in an apartment.
A large device was deployed and the Raid was sent to the site. According to ActuLyonthe Raid operated in 5 minutes. One of the victims reportedly called her sister for help around 10:30 a.m. to inform her that she was being held captive in her home.
The two hostages released
The two people taken hostage were released shortly before 12 p.m., after several hours of confinement. No injuries were discovered.
There were no exchanges of fire. One of the suspects is known to the police for drug trafficking.
The reasons for the hostage taking are not yet known. 4 suspects, armed and hooded, were arrested and handguns were found on the four individuals.
