Mrs. Trump also announced in an interview broadcast Monday on Fox News that an upcoming documentary about her life, expected to be distributed by Amazon Prime Video later this year, was her initiative, based on the reception to her autobiography that she published last year.

“So I had the idea to make a film, to make a film about my life,” she said. My life is incredible. She is incredibly busy. And I said to my agent, you know, I have this idea, so please go out and make a deal for me.”

The documentary represents another connection between Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and Donald Trump. In December, the company announced plans to donate US$1 million to the president-elect’s inauguration fund, and said it would also stream Mr. Trump’s inauguration on January 20 on its Prime service. Video, a separate in-kind donation worth an additional $1 million.

A week before the inauguration and the return of the Trump family to the White House, Melania Trump confided that she had packed her bags and that she had chosen the furniture she wanted to bring home. The second time was easier, she said, because she knows the rooms where the family will live.

“I’ve already packed my bags. I have already selected the furniture that needs to be installed. So it’s very different, a transition, the second time,” she said.

Their son Barron, 18 and a freshman at New York University, will have a room.

Melania Trump says she’s still recruiting for her team and plans to resurrect and expand her “Be Best” initiative, focused on children’s well-being, social media use and opioid abuse.
