A house caught fire in the early morning of Monday January 13, in Wingles (Pas-de-Calais). Three people, a mother and her two daughters, died.
Three people died in a fire in a house located in Wingles, north of Lens (Pas-de-Calais). The fire apparently broke out in the early morning of Monday January 13, around 4:30 a.m.
The victims are a mother and her two daughters, the mayor said. BFMTV. On the other hand, “two boys aged 11 and 12 had come out (of the house) and were evacuated “in relative urgency” told AFP an officer from the departmental fire and rescue operational center (Codis). They would have been transported to Lens hospital, specifies BFMTV.

Two children saved by a neighbor
On the scene, 35 firefighters were mobilized to deal with the disaster. The fire was contained around 7 a.m. For the safety of the neighborhood, the electricity was cut off. The origin of the fire is still unknown.
One of the neighbors declared to the mayor of the city Sébastien Messent that “he had taken the two boys out”, the latter relays to The Voice of the North. “He was alerted by an explosion. He took a ladder to get them out through a first floor window.”
